Chapter 5 "Indian In The Cupboard"

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Yesterday, you made a prediction about chapter five. Today, you'll comment to this post and explain if your prediction was correct or incorrect. In order to do this, please remember the formula: Evidence from the text + your schema (or background knowledge) = your prediction. Make sure to use the word because as part of your explanation.

Your comment should sound something like this: In the text I read _____ and I already knew _____, so I made the prediction that _____. My prediction was (correct or incorrect).

Remember that the pieces of the prediction formula can go in any order.

Push your thinking!

Dear Ms.Vander Velde,
While reading chapter 4 I found out that the indian was enjoying the horse called "Crazy horse". What kind of name is that for a horse? I be live that when a horse does crazy things people say what a crazy horse! But, never heard a name like that. Also, that the when Omri woke up he went down stairs in to the yard for the indian to ride the horse. Omri seems like he cares a lot about his little friends. Further more, while little bear being out side in the yard the horse was jumping over things and all over the place. Then, Little bear wanted a gun , knife and arrows to shoot. Omri was okay with little bear getting all that. If I were to be Omri I wouldn't be pleased with little bear having weapons. At the very begining of the book called "The indian In the cupboard"when the indian came human Omri got stabbed with the little knife that the indian had. Little bear stabbed Omri because, he thought that is was a dream. I predict that when Omri goes to school Little bear will go out side. I predict this because, the author said that the indian wanted to explore the house a little bit more.

Marisol

Dear Ms. Vander Velde,
In the text I read that Omri took the medical officer and I already knew that Omri put the soldier in the cupboard, so I made a prediction that Omri would put the soldier on the ground so the soldier could treat Little Bear. I predicted this because Little Bear got cut and Omri had a soldier or medical officer so he would probably want to help Little Bear. My prediction was correct because Omri did put the soldier on the ground to treat Little Bear.

Eli

Dear Ms.Vander Velde,
In the text I read, that the Indian was hurt, and Omri saw a First World War figure with a doctor's bag with a red cross on it, and decided to put it the cupboard, and a moment later a voice came from inside the cupboard, so I already knew that when Omri put a figure in the Cupboard, it would come to life, so I made the prediction that the figure would come to life as well and heal the Indian. My prediction was correct because in chapter 5 the figure DID come to life and heal the Indian.
